"There is an art in saying what needs to be said and no more or less. A resounding wisdom in honoring moments of silence where you feel and sense what needs to be. This is a gift and skill that Amanda embodies and has been of great importance in the work we've been able to do.
Amanda has held the space for me without the often-judging eyes of society, family, or even friends. Every week, I am allowed to be quirky, sad, laugh or cry. Through these sessions, more and more, I've been progressing immensely as an individual and member of society. I've learned the ABC's of life, having fun again and letting go of the too often buried words, shame, guilt, depression and trauma. I've been empowered to feel and to identify feelings beyond overwhelm and especially thoughts of wanting to die. I have been able to see trauma and healing as a continuum, a well-worn, rocky path; one worth taking.
Amanda gracefully crosses cultural lines and as a Haitian-American woman I feel very comfortable that she has been able to relate to me and respect my background. I feel blessed and privileged to have her in my life as a counselor and therapist, knowing that what I have learned will take me where I need to go."
"I came to you feeling completely deflated and trapped and you helped me refresh and transform my life perspective, goals and values in a way that helped me achieve a sense of self-empowerment - something I never even realized I was lacking."
"You helped me save my life."
